I was improvising whilst recording some material on both an upright piano and a set of vibraphones in two interesting acoustic spaces and I found that entire stories could be told through different spatial lenses and I hear a different story with every listen. What story do you hear?
I watched people surf for a long, long time when I visited San Diego and San Sebastián. I love how it is all about the wave, it's a real focus that seems to shut everything else out and it inspired me to make a piece of music that has the feelings of preparation, commitment and navigating through chaos.

"When a dream feels broken from all the pieces not linking together, when you try to cling to a part that is fleeting back to the dreamworld, this is what was running through my fingers when I sat at the upright piano and began recording with a tension that wants to resolve but is so slight and uneven that it develops with every passing."
